I have 11 guns and 8 are basically useless now, but I lack the time to properly modify or fix them. I've tried to use these RJ9 connectors to repair one, but didn't get very far: https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B00MJ ... UTF8&psc=1

I'm sure I'm not alone in my struggles.

Has anyone tried to redesign the gun clip and connector and 3D print them as a replacement part?

After looking over all the great insight others have posted here, it seems that a new gun clip that houses the batteries and updated contacts would make sense.

Using the same approach that AlexHogendoorn or Delano employ, you could comfortably house RJ9 or RJ45 in the new longer clip and have it connected to the gun. Once a 3D design is created, 3D printing of these new clips could be done in bulk to lower costs, and sold to fans like us.

Thoughts?
